Q: How did your lifestyle or nutrition change during your journey?
" More discipline, even travelling. No strict diet but balance."
As I have built a good level of stamina and my muscles recover at a faster rate after each workout, I go for a workout class at least 6 times a week and my body feels stiff if I do not exercise for a day. As such, I think I have become more disciplined and stick to a diligent workout routine with a good mix of strength and cardio classes each week. It may sound slightly unhinged but I also ensure that I get in a good 45mins exercise at least every alternate day when I am travelling overseas. I guess it’s a healthy state of mind that I have developed. I also have a more balanced diet and do meal preps by myself (mostly protein and vegetables and meals with little sodium and oil) and I significantly cut my intake of sugary drinks/desserts. I believe that to reap the best benefits from working out, it is vital to have a well-balanced diet.
Q: What makes CHIMPCHAMP Fitness different from other studios?

Firstly, I think what truly sets ChimpChamp apart from other studios is its coaches. It always amazes me how passionate and dedicated its coaches are. You can tell that they love what they do and teaching classes is not just to earn a paycheck. It is observable that they put in a great amount of time and effort to curate each class so that it remains interesting and well-paced for their trainees. The coaches are also patient, attentive and friendly. In fact, the coaches do track and discuss the progress of their regular trainees and work together to encourage their regulars in achieving their fullest potential. ChimpChamp also offers a wide buffet of classes suitable for different age groups, strength level, stamina level or goals/interests. This distinguishes ChimpChamp from other studios that typically offer only 1-2 types of classes which can become mundane after a while. There is also transparency in the booking of classes (first come first serve basis via the app) unlike other studios/gyms that set aside a notable number of slots for their regulars, making their classes exceedingly difficult to book. The equipment used at ChimpChamp are also from Les Mills, which are scientifically designed and user friendly. The studios at ChimpChamp are bright as well which improves mood and keeps energy levels high, unlike other studios that are windowless or not well-ventilated.
Q: What inspired you to take the first step toward fitness with CHIMPCHAMP?

Like many others, I was stuck in a loop of “working at home, eating, sitting down after eating and sleeping” in 2020 when COVID struck and Circuit Breaker was implemented in Singapore. For convenience, food choices were also limited to what was available on Grab or Foodpanda, which meant fast food or meals that were full of gravy, high in salt or sugar/carbohydrates. This led to significant weight gain as there was a high food intake but low burning of calories. I started to feel easily tired and winded and of course, I could see the change in my physique as well. In 2021, I decided to sign up with a gym but mainly used only the trackmill or the swimming pool to gain some stamina. This became rather mundane and was in effective in building muscles/losing weight. Hence, around 2022, I decided to explore a variety of workouts so that I can zoom into the workout(s) that best suited me. I started to go for classes offered by many different centres and did boxing, HIIT, circuit training and other strength development programs, and I think it was in late 2022 that my friends and I chanced upon ChimpChamp and we felt that the Bodypump class seemed interesting. We decided to sign up for the Bodypump class and were deeply impressed by the coach (Ms Tutik). She was enthusiastic, encouraging and passionate in what she does, which motivated us to check out other classes offered by ChimpChamp, including Tabata and full body workout. True enough, the other coaches were also highly dedicated, friendly and encouraging, and the workouts were effective in building stamina and losing fats/gaining muscles. This inspired me to have a more structured workout schedule at ChimpChamp and eventually, I decided to exclusively work out at ChimpChamp and signed up for its daily class pack. I have not regretted my choice since then.
Q: What benefits have you noticed since getting fitter at CHIMPCHAMP?

I think that the most prominent change would be my physique. In fact, I lost about 10kg ever since I diligently work out at ChimpChamp and it was a boost to my confidence to drop 2-3 clothing sizes! Despite having some soreness in my muscles due to working out, I do feel less lethargic and more refreshed and energetic in general. I would also say that I have a more radiant complexion and feel more positive, perhaps due to the release of endorphins when exercising.

A: I was in really poor shape. Stress from work made me unable to control my cravings, and my body always felt lethargic (non-stop weight gain). Tried several fitness studios but couldn’t stick to a routine. With a friend’s recommendation, I tried ChimpChamp and found that the coaches, the classes and the community here just hit different, and decided to commit.
Q: How did your lifestyle or nutrition change during your journey?
" everything in moderation."
A: Being aware of what I put into my mouth was the first step. In the beginning, I just started tracking everything I ate, and was shocked at some of the hidden calorie bombs disguised as “healthy” food (eg protein bars) Once I get a better sense of my nutrition, I began to substitute my diet with better alternatives. For example, almond milk instead of whole milk for coffees, and everyone knows my love for Coke Zero! But everything in moderation. Occasional treats are still needed for the sanity.
Q: What benefits have you noticed since getting fitter at CHIMPCHAMP?
"elevates my mood & confidence. When you get that, every corner of my life (family friends, work etc) i amplified positively.
A: For me, getting fitter elevates my mood & confidence. When you get that, every corner of my life (family, friends, work, etc) is just amplified positively. More cheerful, better outlook towards life. It’s my Life 2.0. And people react the same way towards me.
Q: What makes CHIMPCHAMP Fitness different from other studios?
"Chimpchamp coaches are so kind and encouraging. .. everything in Chimpchamp is done with heart in the best interest of memebrs..."
A: Short answer: Heart. ChimpChamp coaches are so kind and encouraging. Besides having great techniques, they go out of their way to make members feel good and learn something while attending the classes. I’ve seen a coach who stayed back after class to guide a newcomer on their posture. Also coaches who give their best (no bad mood at all) to ensure members are taken care of, whether it’s just 1 or 30 attendees. Everything in ChimpChamp is done with heart in the best interests of the members, so they actually enjoy the workout in itself.

A: Stay consistent for 2 months. Your future self in 2 months will regret why you didn’t start way earlier.

Q: How did your lifestyle or nutrition change during your journey?
" Every class makes me feel energised and empowered — eating healthier, living happier."
Ever since I started working out, I’ve learnt about discipline and balance. Every class I attended makes me feel energised and empowered. Because of CHIMPCHAMP, I have seen nothing but positive results in my wellness progress. All the efforts and time visiting the studio improved my stamina, strength, agility and most importantly my overall health. Making CHIMPCHAMP my daily routine has made a great impact in my life. Eating healthier, living happier. I reduced my intake on sweet products, less oil and less salt, but not on a strict diet. Exercising allows me to have a little more leeway when it comes to eating, so I just ensure I have a well-balanced diet in every meal.
Q: What makes CHIMPCHAMP Fitness different from other studios?
" Coaches celebrate effort, correct your posture, and even stay back to answer questions."
They have different classes daily catered to different age groups. Coaches are always ready and there to correct your postures. They create a relaxing atmosphere by giving a virtual high-five or a thumbs-up to everyone who makes effort in class. Coaches are always there after class to answer questions and doubts. The user-friendly apps are easy to use for searching class information and booking. There are even special classes by coaches during public holidays and bonding events during festive seasons.
Q: What inspired you to take the first step toward fitness with CHIMPCHAMP?
" Their constant support and encouragement pushed me out of my lazy era in 2023."
All the years of partying and drinking resulted in my poor physiques and lack of stamina. As age caught up, I realise my unhealthy lifestyle causes me to have lack of energy , poor fitness , weight gain , skin problems and even mood irritability. I have zero motivation in doing anything. Having 2 kids made me realise how unfit I was and I could barely keep up with their energy level. I started trying different sports like cycling and jogging but the lack of motivation made it not sustainable. I will give myself excuses to be lazy and it was easier to not do anything. I even signed up packages at gym studios but did not continue after due to the lack of motivation. Later one day when I was introduced to Chimpchamp Fitness, I was really impressed after trying out the different classes here. It was interesting, engaging and encouraging during the whole time in class. Coaches were very passionate in what they are doing and was so patient with the students. They made the class really enjoyable, and they made students really motivated. Their constant support and encouragement push me out of my lazy era in 2023, and till date it has became my daily routine to participate in their classes.

The tired, restless and weaker days are over. Now I am happier, livelier and feeling more energised. People start to compliment me on my improvements in physique, looking more radiant. This has also given me lots of confidence, energy and now I’m definitely feeling stronger. Every day ends with a great wide smile after a workout. Happy hormones every day!

The secret of getting ahead is getting started. Once you start exercising regularly at CHIMPCHAMP, the hardest thing is to stop it. Do something today that your future self will thank you for. Believe in CHIMPCHAMP, believe in yourself!

Q: How did your lifestyle or nutrition change during your journey?
"showing class to regular class I attend, cultivated habit, then commitment, and eventually discipline...."
Along with greater awareness of my lifestyle and food choices, I have learnt how to stay disciplined- not without effort, but with far less struggle. Simply showing up to the regular classes that I attend, it naturally cultivated a habit, then commitment, and eventually discipline. This journey taught me that sticking to a consistent routine removes the biggest hurdles to commitment, makes staying disciplined easier. Now, I use the same approach for anything new I'm tackling in those tough early stages.
Q: Tell us something that can inspire the person who is still deciding to take the steps.
"Show up and don't overthink."
A: Show up and don’t overthink. By showing up, you have accomplished half of the workout’s objective. Go with an open heart, leave the other half to CCF and see where it takes you. (Rest assured you will be in good hands) Lastly, be kind to yourself. More often than not, you're your own toughest critic. Allow yourself to be vulnerable at the beginning stages, trust me, we've all been there! And if this is an unavoidable phase that you must overcome, CCF is a safe space to do so.
Q: What inspired you to take the first step toward fitness with CHIMPCHAMP?
" inject some excitement to my workout... coach was attentive to first timer."
Before the COVID pandemic, I was mostly working out solo at home. It started feeling stale, so I began exploring new programs to build fresh routines and hopefully inject some excitement back into my workout regime. That's how it led me to CCF. During the first session, I found the class interesting (time passed by really quick!) and the coach was very reassuring and attentive towards first timer. The FullBody Shaper program was a good introduction to experience what the studio offers and I was drawn by the community’s positive vibes. That sparked my curiosity to try more programs, and the rest is history.
Q: What benefits have you noticed since getting fitter at CHIMPCHAMP?

Getting fitter improved how i feel and look overall. Being fitter also means my ability to focus better, clearer headspace and stronger tenacity to handle obstacles that life throws my way. Little benefits like these go a long mile for me in staying balanced and maintaining positive and meaningful relationships with people who matters to me.
Q: What makes CHIMPCHAMP Fitness different from other studios?

Good fitness studios are everywhere, but it's the consistency that makes CCF stand out for me. By consistency, I mean the Coaches are always motivating, fun, and enriching, out to ensure every workout is a fulfilling one. The programs are well-structured and yet often refreshed with little playful challenges that keep every class exciting. And the positive community vibe is contagious—each time you'll absorb that uplifting energy without even realizing it.
